Trivia / Earthquake: The Big One

• Distanced from Current Events: A duplicate for the ride was planned for Universal Studios Japan, but later scrapped after it was felt that it would be in poor taste due to the devastating earthquakes that Japan has been hit by over the years. A duplicate of the Backdraft attraction from Universal Studios Hollywood was put in its place.
• Inspiration for the Work: The Earthquake scene in the Studio Tour at Hollywood's park, as it was decided for the Florida park that it should be made into its own attraction.
• Role Reprise: Charlton Heston returned for the attraction's pre-shows.
• What Could Have Been: The initial concept of the attraction had it being a ride aboard a trolley through a crumbling San Francisco. The only part of the plan that made it in was the attraction's trolley house facade.
