• Dawson Casting: Ned Manning as Crabs was in his mid-thirties at the time of the film, even lying about his age to the director.
• Deleted Scene: Information on the DVD describes two major deleted scenes, although no footage of them apparently survives. The first would have had Crabs taking refuge in a milk bar after the train yard fight sequence, with more depiction of how civilisation was collapsing, and the second would have had Frank coming to look for Crabs at the drive-in, but refusing to help him to escape or do anything else to get him out. The latter was apparently dropped because the actors' performance was considered too poor.
