* StillbornFranchise: As it turns out, High Moon Studios was working on a sequel around the time they were working on ''VideoGame/TheBourneConspiracy'', but then Creator/{{Activision}} purchased Creator/VivendiUniversalGames and merged with them to form Activision-Blizzard and they promptly shut down development to have them instead work on ''Franchise/{{Transformers}}'' videogames, and nothing has come of ''Darkwatch'' ever since.

* FollowTheLeader: While the setting itself is quite original, the actual gameplay mechanics are ''heavily'' inspired by ''VideoGame/HaloCombatEvolved'', with RegeneratingShieldsStaticHealth, a two-weapon LimitedLoadout, separate melee and grenade throwing keys, no sprint, the Redeemer having a similar crosshair and bullet spread as the ''Halo'' assault rifle, pitched battles with multiple nameless RedShirt allies, etc. There's even a vehicle level in which you drive a steam-powered wagon that's extremely similar to ''Halo'''s Warthog. Darkwatch managed to avoid being lumped in with the many (failed) "Halo Killer" clones that were being made at the time due to its unique supernatural wild west setting.
