- Celebrity Voice Actor: The game has Rose Mcgowan, at the time known primarily for Charmed and Scream, as the voice of your second partner, Tala. The rest of the cast is filled out by veteran voice actors such as Jennifer Hale, Keith Szarabajka (doing his Didact voice for Lazarus), and Michael Bell.
- Follow the Leader: While the setting itself is quite original, the actual gameplay mechanics are heavily inspired by Halo: Combat Evolved, with Regenerating Shields, Static Health, a two-weapon Limited Loadout, separate melee and grenade throwing keys, no sprint, the Redeemer having a similar crosshair and bullet spread as the Halo assault rifle, pitched battles with multiple nameless Red Shirt allies, etc. There's even a vehicle level in which you drive a steam-powered wagon that's extremely similar to Halo's Warthog. Darkwatch managed to avoid being lumped in with the many (failed) "Halo Killer" clones that were being made at the time due to its unique supernatural wild west setting.
- Stillborn Franchise: As revealed by Matt McMuscles, High Moon Studios was working on a sequel around the time they were working on The Bourne Conspiracy, but then Activision purchased Vivendi Universal Games and merged with them to form Activision-Blizzard and they promptly shut down development to have them instead work on Transformers videogames, and nothing has come of Darkwatch ever since.
