• Attention Deficit Creator Disorder: While he is most famous for fronting Bright Eyes, he has a reasonably successful solo career and has over the years been in numerous other bands (Desaparecidos, The Faint, Commander Venus, Park Ave., Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band, Monsters of Folk, and Better Oblivion Community Center).
• Creator Breakdown: A noticeable one with his solo album Ruminations. The first song has subtext about his (at the time) recent court case involving false accusations of rape, and other songs reference various health issues, including a brain cyst for which he was hospitalized. The entire album is minimalistic and depressed-sounding.
• Reality Subtext: Some of the songs on Ruminations (such as "You All Loved Him Once" and "Tachycardia") make a lot more sense when one knows that they were inspired by Oberst's declined physical and mental health following a very public scandal involving fabricated accusations of rape.
