• Acting for Two: Danny Pudi plays Abed & Joey, the "White Abed".
• The Cast Showoff: Joel McHale is good at pool.
• Enforced Method Acting: When Jeff & Coach Bogner strip naked, Joel McHale & Blake Clark are actually wearing flesh colored shorts, as is the norm in Hollywood. Except Joel's didn't provide enough "coverage" for him when he lifted up his leg to take the final shot of the game, and his scrotum slipped out - everyone's disgusted reactions to Jeff are their genuine reactions to the slip... And arguably, knowing this makes Annie's reaction even funnier.
• Out of Order: In "Physical Education", Jeff tells Leonard he talked to his son on Family Day... a callback to the next episode's central event.
