• Ability over Appearance: Benedict Cumberbatch looks nothing like Dominic Cummings, bald cap or not.
• Approval of God: Kind of - while Cummings did not speak of his portrayal or the film, he did invite Cumberbatch into his home when the latter was preparing for the role.
• What Could Have Been:
  • According to Graham, PM David Cameron had a large part in the first draft and acted as the eyes of the audience in Downing Street. However, he all but wrote him out after finding him "boring", and focused on Cummings as the agent of change.
  • Despite being against Brexit, Cumberbatch was concerned that the film would turn into a biased anti-Brexit piece and wanted reassurance that it would be even-handed before he agreed to star. Ironically, he would later feel that Cummings was being made more heroic than he should.
