• Creator's Favorite Episode: Loren Bouchard has stated that this is one of his favorite episodes of the whole show. He also commented that it was a fun indulgence for the crew to make Gene's musical number in this episode.
• In Memoriam: The episode ends with a dedication to Oliver Miles Cross, the 5-year-old nephew of writers Lizzie and Wendy Molyneux. Oliver died from leukemia in 2013, Wendy went on to channel a fundraiser to raise funds for CureSearch for Children's Cancer in his honor.
