• What Could Have Been: Marc Platt started pitching stories to the series in the mid-80s. If things had worked out slightly differently, it's just conceivable that Peter Davison (or maybe even Colin Baker or Sylvester McCoy) could have done it on television. There was also a cancelled script for Davison with an extremely similar plot called "Genesis of the Cybermen", but Platt didn't write it.
