• What Could Have Been: An article written a few years after the release of Betsy's Wedding reported that Lovelace had plans for another book called Betsy’s Bettina, which would have been about Joe returning from overseas and him and Betsy having a baby. However, this book was never completed with Lovelace saying that she did briefly work on it but never cared to write it, as she felt that last lines in Betsy’s Wedding were a perfect ending for the series.
