• What Could Have Been: The crew seriously considered casting series composer Bear McCreary as Kara's father. The role required someone who could actually play the piano, making Bear the obvious choice, but the crew eventually cast actor Roark Critchlow instead.
• Word of God: Ron Moore has gone on record saying that Kara's father is not the long-dead seventh model Daniel mentioned in "No Exit" and Daniel was never meant to play any role on the series beyond fleshing out Cavil's backstory, despite fans assuming that he was behind many of the key mysteries and creating Epileptic Trees.
