Trivia / Battlestar Galactica (2003) - S01 E01 "33"

Go To

  • Dyeing for Your Art: Edward James Olmos consulted with an expert on sleep deprivation and reduced his sleeping hours so he could report back to the rest of the cast about how they should play the effects.
  • What Could Have Been: Originally, it was to be unambiguous about there being people on the Olympic Carrier, with unsuspecting passengers clearly looking at Lee as he prepared to fire on them. The network vetoed this and insisted it be more ambiguous. All references to this incident in subsequent episodes were written and filmed from the perspective that there were passengers when the ship was destroyed. Zoic, the effects studio responsible for the CGI at this point, claim to have hidden some flickering shadows in the windows of the Olympic Carrier to hint at the possibility of passengers. Although Tigh protests to Adama in "Pegasus" that they don't know whether there were people on the ship, the showrunners call this bullshit in the podcast for that episode and say Tigh is lying to himself and there were definitely people on it.
