• Executive Meddling: Mairghread Scott took to Twitter to talk about how she was out of the loop regarding what the Bat-titles were up to, due to being excluded from the Bat-family writers' summit. As a result, she'd have to frequently rewrite her scripts to account for big changes. Given the timing of her run, it's likely that one of these things was the "Ric Grayson" incident that also derailed Benjamin Percy's Nightwing plans so much that he left the title, as well as Dan Abnett's Titans run.
• What Could Have Been: The first annual is very different than what its solicitation led people to believe. The solicitation focused entirely on Batgirl and Supergirl breaking into Arkham Asylum and running into an important inmate, and saying that it would lead to a much bigger story. The obvious implication was that the annual would lead into the next Supergirl (Rebirth) arc (Barbara's even on the first issue's cover) which is supposed to feature the Emerald Empress forming a new Fatal Five, and that Saturn Girl would be the inmate. Adding to that, Hope Larson was revealed to be one of the candidates to write the Legion ongoing, along with a handful of other writers. Come the time of release, and Arkham Asylum isn't even in the issue, making it clear some plans changed.
