Francine’s failure to get their message is due to listening to her headphones at the time Arthur and Buster call; in today’s world, kids would simply send each other text messages via phone, making the communication a lot harder to miss since kids are almost certain to check their phones.
  • Likewise, while the episode’s entire conflict could easily be solved by at least one of the friends actually bothering to, you know, tape record the episode they’re so desperate to not miss, even that would hardly be an issue today: episodes are usually available on streaming sites within hours of being broadcast, so they could just look it up online.
