• Word of God: Specifically younger children were chosen to be stolen by the Masked Shadow, hence why characters like Ryouta Misumi, Souta Minamino, Genki Hino, and Keita and Haru Midorikawa don't appear in the story. In the case of Haru, she had received a Sailor Earth form in Twinkling in the Dark, which is partly why she wasn't taken.
