Trivia / Antonball Deluxe

Go To

  • Descended Creator: Anton and the Antonball title announcer's voice clips are provided by Tony Grayson, the original programmer for Antonball.
  • Development Gag: Red Guy's name is according to Word of God a reference to Anton's original name when he was first created.
  • Dummied Out: Back when the game was being developed with a 1280×720 resolution, the arcade borders on Antonball and Punchball were larger and animated. Joysticks and buttons were visible on the bottom portion of the screen, and moved with the players' input like a real arcade game. While this version of the border can still be found in the SAGE 2020 demo files, its functionality was stripped.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • A platformer mode called Antonland was prototyped for the game, with stages based on the ones Anton goes through in Antonball. Though the concept would eventually get realized in the form of Antonblast.
    • During the leadup to the game's Switch release, Summitsphere tweeted footage from a Wario Land-style Game Boy platformer starring Brulo titled Brulo's Insurance Fraud Adventure. It was set to be released as a Gaiden Game during the wait, having been created for the 2021 GB Jam like Antonball and Punchball were in previous years, but the project was never finished.
  • Working Title:
    • Punchball was developed under the name Punchball Antonball, the name of its solo predecessor, prior to making Annie the main character of the mode.
    • The track "Welcome to the Harmyard" was originally uploaded under the name "Meatier Balls" on SoundCloud.
    • "Dynamite Boy" was originally composed as "Valkyrie"; its first iteration was titled "Valkyrie One", while the revamped version put in the game was called "Valkyrie Two".
