Creator Backlash: A downplayed example with the quest "Nordic Hospitality" (which makes Ralof and Gerdur the player's lovers) - while the author doesn't completely regret it (and still included it), they admit it's not very good, and the player won't miss much if they skip it.
Real Life Writes the Plot: Presumably the reason why none of the Dragonborn characters have quests, since they had unique voice actors - Serana's status as a follower, combined with how much dialogue she had, made it easy to work around for her, but Frea and Morwen didn't have as much dialogue.
The mod's author, FoxFingers later gave the go-ahead for other authors to add their own quests to the mod upon announcing they were leaving development . One effort, by an author by the name of JackP, would've added several other partnersnote Sorine, Delphine, Uthgerd, Alfhild Battle-Born, Gwendolyn, Saffir, Dinya Balu, Fastred, and Boti having been completed, and said author expressed an interest in making quests for some of the Dragonborn female characters, but it seems to have been abandoned.
Similarly, an updated version by the name of "Amorous Adventures Plus" was in the works by Xiderpunk (the author of Flowergirls) - while most of the quests were updated, a few NPCs don't have quests as they were planned on having updated versionsnote specifically, it removed the mini-quest for Aranae Ienith, the Priestess at Azura's shrine, would give you - the author was planning on giving Aranae a proper quest - and also the final part of Serana's questline, Serana and the Mark of Dibella - while Serana did become the player's lover on the penultimate quest, Serana and the Art of Dibella, this quest would make Ahlam the player's lover; additionally, while her quest was completed, Mirabelle wouldn't respond to affections. It also appears to have been abandoned.
Word of God: The mod's creator justified the lack of male romances by the fact they didn't enjoy writing the few ones which are present in the final version of the mod.
Unsorted Trivia:
The mods turning Serana and Elisif as marriable have been reported to correctly work along Amorous Adventures, though marrying Elisif introduces a Plot Hole because the NPC treated as the Dragonborn's wife won't be the actual Elisif but the body double.
