Inaho's arc was going to be more complicated, with his AmbiguousDisorder leading to a self-destructive obsession with the princess that drives away all his friends and family, while Slaine's arc would've been motivated by [[PowerCorrupts ambition and selfishness]] rather than the princess. After the final battle Inaho and Slaine would then live peacefully together on Earth in isolation. In addition Mazuurek or one of the other already-introduced nobles was originally planned to become Asseylum's [[spoiler: husband]], rather than Klancain.

* LyingCreator: Despite statements to the contrary, ''a lot'' of fans are convinced Creator/GenUrobuchi was lying at Anime Expo 2014 when he stated that he only worked on the first three episodes, because the first season finale was very similar to [[CreatorThumbprint his style of writing.]] If it wasn't him, then the writing staff was trying very hard to [[FollowTheLeader emulate his lead.]] A few days after the finale aired, Urobuchi continued to deny that he was involved in it and that it ''really'' [[NotMeThisTime wasn't him this time.]] See WhatCouldHaveBeen below.
** The misconception is so strong that a [[{{Satire}} satirical]] article [[http://www.animemaru.com/urobuchi-revealed-to-have-been-secretly-writing-aldnoah-zero-all-along/ was published about this]].

* WhatCouldHaveBeen: Since Gen Urobuchi was only involved with the first few episodes and the basic framework of the story, the final product and characters turned out to be different from what he had originally envisioned, as he states in [[http://nekoshiritori.wordpress.com/2014/08/25/interview-with-gen-urobuchi/ this]] interview. While we don't have much details on what his original version of the characters and script were like, we do know that his version of Inaho was very different from ours.

** "Bowl Cut" for Trillram, because of his hairstyle. Sometimes, "Space Bowl Cut" and "the Evil Bowl Cut" also appear.
** "Space [[LightNovel/FateZero Tokiomi]]" for Cruhteo due to sharing a [[Creator/ShowHayami voice actor]], staff, [[spoiler:humiliating demise]], and general [[UpperClassTwit aristocratic demeanour]], as well as both series sharing a lot of staff. "Croutons" also crops up, due to the awkward spelling of his name.
** 'Sauce-bum', 'Sassybum', and 'The Sauce', for the BigBad, Count Saazbaum, for obvious reasons. As the series progressed and he was revealed to be an increasingly sympathetic and badass MagnificentBastard instead of a generic SmugSnake NonActionBigBad, 'Awesomesauce' began to gain popularity.
** 'Eggs' for Inaho, because of his [[MemeticMutation famously]] SkewedPriorities. After the mid-season finale, [[spoiler: Scrambled Eggs]] is also becoming popular. In Japan, he has the unflattering nickname of 'Onaho'/'Inahole'.

** Marylcian and Barouhcruz are "Mary" and "Bary" since their names are difficult to spell.

It's likely that, had Urobuchi not been approached, or had he been able to work out his scheduling conflicts, he would've stayed onboard for much longer.
