  • Channel Hop: Amazon Studios was set to distribute it at first, but dropped the license in the wake of the sexual abuse allegations against Woody Allen gaining renewed attention. The American distributors wound up being MPI Media Group and Signature Entertainment.
  • Creator Backlash: Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Hall and Griffin Newman donated their earnings from the movie to various charities after Woody Allen was accused of sexual abuse.
  • The Shelf of Movie Languishment: The movie was completed in 2018 but got shelved because of allegations of sexual abuse on part of Allen. As Allen was in the habit of releasing a film every year, this marked the first time since 1981 that it did not happen.
  • Short Run in Peru: The movie eventually saw releases around the world in 2019, but did not get a release in the USA until late 2020, and it was a limited one.
