** The arch-fiends who offer Vaarsuvius a [[PowersViaPossession Soul Splice]] make several true but deceptive statements while negotiating: that they each [[YourSoulIsMine get V's soul]] for the same amount of time as the Splice lasts (not necessarily after V's death, so they can yank V into Hell at a bad time), that the Splice could influence V's actions (if only by giving V a load of BlackMagic and cheering V on), and that "We simply don't need to trick you if we can get what we want by playing it straight" (if indeed).
** Malack, when explaining his god Nergal, gives a brief lecture about how [[DontFearTheReaper death gods and their clerics shouldn't be stereotyped as evil]]: good and evil people alike all have to die eventually, so the role is more Neutral. He leaves out any direct statement about Nergal or himself, since by all appearances Nergal is a GodOfEvil who exults in mass slaughter and Malack [[spoiler:is a vampire who's plotting an IndustrializedEvil regime in his name]].

* KickTheSonOfABitch:
** V's [[spoiler:murder of Kubota]] certainly shows just how much more of an AntiHero the elf has become, but if there is any [[SmugSnake antagonist]] that deserves to be unceremoniously disintegrated and scattered to the winds, it is this one.
** Similarly, [[spoiler:Haley's murder of Crystal]] is commonly seen as this, though a few still found it a bit unsettling. At least until you [[AllThereInTheManual buy the fourth book,]] then read the scenes where [[spoiler:Crystal tries to kill Haley ''several times'' while they're retrieving Roy's body]].
** Also [[KnightTemplar Miko]] pursuing [[HeroicComedicSociopath Belkar]], especially if you consider what Belkar's conduct looks like from ''inside'' the comic's world.
** [[spoiler:Redcloak killing Tsukiko]] is thoroughly cold, callous and brutal and serves as a defining character moment for the former as a villain... and yet, given the latter is a [[spoiler:villain with a skewed perception of morality, and was [[HaveYouToldAnyoneElse threatening to ruin Redcloak's plans to betray Xykon instead of simply informing the latter of this deception, she]]]] really had it coming.
** Similarly, Redcloak killing the elven resistance in Azure City, who had already been established as killing civilian goblins and defenseless prisoners out of speciesism.
** Nale [[spoiler:burns Malack alive]]. Sure, he does it for selfish reasons, but considering that [[spoiler:Malack converted Durkon into a vampire and was plotting mass murder on a daily basis]], he deserves it.
** [[spoiler:Tarquin later kills Nale, though admittedly one of the reasons he does so is to avenge his comrade's death]].

* KillTheParentRaiseTheChild: This is how [[spoiler:Serini found herself adopting Sunny. The beholder she was trying to recruit attacked her and she killed it in self-defense, but it was budding at the time. Given how beholders usually treat their offspring, being raised by a strict but caring halfling is definitely an improvement]].

** [[https://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0851.html "Passive Voice"]]: Even ''D&D'' spell names can be used for this gag. When Durkon cast a ''hold person'' spell on Tarquin, the latter just throws off the effect and responds "OK." as he's grabbing the dwarf by the beard for a HumanHammerThrow.

** While interfering with the vote at the Godsmoot, the party is attacked by a legion of vampires raised by [[spoiler:the High Priest of Hel.]] Roy points out that the rule forbidding the representatives from attacking each other doesn't apply to the invading vampires, and so some of the clerics present jump in to aid them. Others, however, move to support the vampires instead on the grounds that since their gods voted in favor of destroying the world, the "lawful" thing to do would be to kill the heroes trying to prevent that.

** Among the priests seen at the Godsmoot, the high priestess of Odin has an eyepatch, the high priestess of Hoder is blind and the high priest of Tyr has a HookHand. Again, it would be trivial for high-level clerics to heal those disabilities, but in each cases they mimic those of their respective gods, and in fact it is very likely they were ritually self-inflicted.
