Tearjerker / When Worlds Collide

• The fact that every single human on the planet, save for the 43 people on the rocket, dies when Bellus collides with Earth.
• When it comes time to select the survivors, Eddie excitedly finds that he's on the list and goes to tell his girlfriend Julie, only to learn that she wasn't selected. He then offers up his ticket for someone else so that they can die together. Fortunately, Hendron arranges for them both to be on the rocket.
• Dr. Hendron sacrificing himself so that the ark survivors, including his own daughter, can live. Even though Stanton was a jerk, it is pitiful to see him stand up and still try to board the rocket as it leaves without him.
• No one actually witnesses the destruction of Earth, as they all pass out from the g-force due to the rocket launch.
