• The anime rendition of the incident that almost left Ranmaru crippled after saving Enjouji's life. Enjouji is normally a Tall, Dark, and Snarky Jerk with a Heart of Gold, but seeing him bawl his heart out over the bleeding Ranmaru is seriously heartbreaking.
  • When Enjouji goes to see Ranmaru in the hospital afterwards and insists on staying by Ranmaru’s side, Ranmaru responds by dragging himself out of bed, showing Enjouji his partially paralyzed body, and screaming at him demanding how Enjouji could possibly love him in his current condition. Enjoiji’s response? He helps put Ranmaru back to bed and reaffirms his love for him. Ranmaru can only cry in response.
• Kai’s rape at the hands of one of Masa’s murderous exes. Masa avenges him by killing his rapist, but Kai cannot help but cry for the man as he feels that it’s his fault that it happened.
  • Several volumes later Masa and Kai try to make love for the first time, but Masa accidentally triggers Kai’s trauma when he holds his hands down. In the aftermath Masa feels horribly guilty for triggering him, and when Kai later opens up to Ranmaru about it he sheds tears over the guilt he feels for reliving the trauma while with Masa.
• The event that completely changed Roy’s life and turned him on the path of a professional killer; the brutal gang-rape of his friend Michelle. Michelle had already suffered trauma from witnessing the murder of her parents and was unable to speak as a result. The very first time she says anything? It’s her screaming for Roy for help during her rape. Roy only learns that she found her voice again when he finds her in the aftermath and she screams at him to not look at her.
