  • Rhonda getting arrested. Just as she reaches her husband, after crossing half the country as a fugitive.
  • Every time Leanne sees Rhonda hug her family. Her own family has called the cops on her for the reward.
  • Jamie's entire existence becomes this with the various things being revealed throughout the series: he was left in a shoebox in a church carpark when he was just a few hours old and never told that he was adopted; growing up, his twin brother (whom Jamie never even knew existed) managed to manipulate everything to "keep him average" - including messing with his exam results and sending fake rejection letters to prevent him from going to university. As far as we know, Layla was apparently one of the best things to happen to Jamie - until she disappeared after their honeymoon. He then learns that Layla was apparently married to his brother and helped Ariel to ruin his life, deals with finding his birth mother and then watching her die in a short amount of time, meets his father and eventually sets up a sort-of relationship with him but then his father's dead too, deals with his psychopathic twin brother repeatedly coming after him and his family with the only reason being that their mother apparently thought Jamie was more special than Ariel. And all the while trying to cope with the possibility of the end of the world. Honestly, it's a wonder the guy was still sane by the end of it all. And then there's what happens at the very end...
