• Kaladin going to the honor chasm to commit suicide. The fact that such a strong and defiant character was brought to the brink and was only saved because of Syl saving him at the last moment is heartwrenching.
• Dalinar realizing he was going to die at the Tower and internally apologizing to Renarin for leaving him to deal with enemy highprinces alone.
  Honor of our ancestors protect you, son. Stay strong - and learn wisdom more quickly than your father did. Farewell.
• "Bridgemen aren't supposed to survive." Every time Kaladin tries to do the right thing, to save as many lives as he can, it always fails, because his society is bigoted and horrible and he and the people he's trying to save are meant to die.
