- Nabiki, normally the most cheerful and outgoing (if annoying) of the three Tendo Sisters, is introduced sulking morosely in her room, with Soun's sad thoughts making it clear that she's been like this ever since a mysterious "accident"... which is later revealed to have been her being cursed into a Were Dragon.
- Building on that, Nabiki's reaction to the news of Ranma's impending arrival. Instead of her usual confidence, she just mopes about how boys like Akane and Kasumi more than her, and putting herself down as a freak that Ranma obviously won't want to pick as his fiancee.
- Kasumi cursing her father and her sisters for forcing her to play surrogate after their mother died, all whilst fawning over her girlfriend... who is clearly showing signs that she doesn't love Kasumi anywhere near as much as Kasumi loves her.
- Pino's boss is blown into a wall, killing him instantly, by whatever happened to animate all his stock along with his loyal greeter robot, who comes back and does the last rites for him before she leaves her place of work forever, with it being unlikely anyone will remember him except as a casualty.
