  • Say what you will about the amnesia kiss in the theatrical version, but the conversation between Clark and Lois leading up to it is one of the more emotional moments of the series. Lois, who has spent a good chunk of the film knowing Clark's identity as Superman, finds herself after everything stressed and miserable over not being able to to express her love for him, to the point that she feels selfish, and "jealous of the whole world". Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder absolutely sell the emotional weight of the conversation.
Clark: Lois, it may not be easy for you to hear this now, but someday, you'll—
Lois: *on the verge of tears* Clark... Look, don't tell me that I'll meet somebody. You're kind of a tough act to follow, you know. Now, I'm gonna be fine. You don't have to worry about me.
Clark: I like worrying about you.
Lois: *now clearly crying* Would you STOP?! Don't you know that this is killing me? Do you know what it's like to have you come in here every morning and not be able to talk to you? Not be able to show I have any feelings for you? Not be able to tell anyone that I know who you are? I don't even know what to call you!
Clark: Lois... I don't know what to say.
Lois: I don't know. Just, say that you love me.
  • In the Richard Donner Director's Cut, when a depowered Clark makes it back to the Fortress of Solitude desperate to find a way to get his powers back with General Zod and his cronies on the loose. It seems there is no hope, but the recording of his father, Jor-El, plays saying that there is a way as anticipated. However, it requires using the last of his power to do, but the Jor-El recording does not hesitate as he appears and grasps his son's shoulder with a mournful, "Goodbye forever, my son" as he restores his son as protector of his home. Even though Superman is able to undo this with the Timey-Wimey Ball, there is no doubt that Marlon Brando proved he was worth every penny for this franchise.
