Tear Jerker / Stray (1987)

• Due to his lifetime of abuse at human hands, Pufftail refuses to live with people. Even kind humans make him wary.
• Pufftail's only companion for his most of his first years was his brother. However, two abusive men threw Pufftail and his brother out of a window, killing Pufftail's brother. Pufftail mentions watching his brother's body get run over by cars.
• The Animal Testing facility features a lot of Body Horror. One researcher is so horrified that he quits. To make it worse, after animal rights activists tried to "help" the animals by freeing them, most of the animals were either killed or returned to the facility.
• Pufftail's one love Tammy gets hit by a car when they try to run off together, leaving Pufftail depressed for weeks. Tammy's owners are also stricken by her death.
