This series rarely forays into heartbreaking material which makes when it does have more impact.
Chapter 1- 3
- Before Cang Shu can clear up the misunderstanding, Qi Lin reveals that she was happy someone cared about “somebody like her”.
- Qi Lin tells Cang Shu that she was a deemed a failure by both her teachers and her parents and now does not really like herself either, a sentiment many a fan can relate too.
- We see Cang Shu’s thoughts before she replies to Qi Lin. Unfortunately they’re very negative with comments such as “I have no interest in a Class G student like you.” and “You were nothing but an excuse I made up.”, but luckily, Cang Shu doesn’t have the heart say a single one.
Chapter 5
- Two lines in particular from Qi Lin’s notes tug at the heartstrings:
- ”I wonder what it feels like to eat with friends”
- “How many years has it been since someone held my hand?”
