Sideswipe's agony in the first chapter. He can't move and is physically unable to cry (because he's a Cybertronian) or scream. He's left trapped in his body, listening to a broken radio and Prowl's terrified attempts to keep him awake.
Sideswipe's isolation, loneliness, and confusion. He's used to having friends with him while he's in the medbay but now he can hardly get them to look at him, let alone talk to him. He has no idea why they are avoiding him and wonders if he did something to push them away.
Skyfire guiltily admits that he's glad it was Sunstreaker who died and not Sideswipe. He confides in Bluestreak that he could not bear it if it was his first friend who had perished and thus, a part of him is relieved another bot died and not him. The gentle scientist feels horrible for having these feelings and becomes choked up as he confesses.
When he finds Sideswipe injured, Prowl cannot force himself to say "It's going to be okay." because Sunstreaker is dead and he knows it won't be okay for Sideswipe ever again.
Jazz, who'd normally have no problem being the center of attention, subtly drowns in guilt in the background and blames himself because he was supposed to go to the meeting instead of the twins.
