Tear Jerker / Masters of Sex

• Most of the last half hour or so of the episode "Catherine" can prompt a bout of the old lacrimation.
• The quiet despair of Margaret Scully, after she's just been told that a) she's never had an orgasm; and b) as such, she can't participate in the study. Allison Janney is just incredible.
• "No. There's only one person who gets to be sickened by me. And that's me." This entire scene sends a skewer straight through the cardiac muscles.
• The insensitive treatment of an intersex newborn in the episode "Fight" and how Masters is completely powerless about acting on the child's behalf.
• Helen dying in childbirth, and Betty losing custody of the baby to Helen's homophobic parents, in "Family Only".
