Tear Jerker / Man on the Moon

• As Andy's career goes into decline in the wake of his Late Night with David Letterman confrontation with Jerry Lawler, he is leading a meditation session at a Transcendental Meditation temple only to be approached by higher-ups who tell him (as politely as they can, granted) that they don't want him to be associated with the movement anymore because his public image makes it look bad. He is clearly trying to tamp down his emotions as he asks them to reconsider this — even asking them to help him be a better person — but he has to face that they don't want him there anymore.
• As Andy's last resort in his quest to find a cure for his inoperable lung cancer, he travels to the Philippines to partake in Psychic Surgery. But just as he is laid down for the treatment after a long wait in line, he turns his head and sees that what he believed would be "a miracle" is merely a con accomplished with sleight-of-hand. Realizing not only that he's doomed but also that — for a change — he's successfully been tricked by someone, he...laughs. And he doesn't stop. The image dissolves from this to him lying in a casket at his funeral.
