For a one-shot, there are a lot of tear jerking moments.
- There is the standard formula for NSL fics. Lincoln is stuffed in the squirrel suit and is subjected to torment. Worst part is his family seem to not give a damn as they believe the suit gives them good luck.
- The beginning is a downer as well. Lori starts to reminiscent about how the events began.
- The fact that Lynn Sr. and Rita PRETENDED to believe the lie just to teach him a lesson is harsh as it is. If Lincoln found out, pissed would be an understatement.
- There is the fact that the other team trained against Lynn's swings. All the accusations were all for naught.
- The moment when they found out that Lincoln run away. Nuff said.
- The revelation that Lincoln was suffering from an inferiority complex and was depressed. Definitely a Stepford Smiler that poor boy.
- Bobby's tranquil fury at Lori and the family's stunt. If it was yells, that would be different but nothing hurts than tranquil fury.
- Poor Luna getting The Reason You Suck Speech from Clyde of all people. You can tell how broken she was.
- You can't help but wince at the fact that most of the sister's had to rebuild their lives from scratch.
- Lynn Sr. punishing himself by working in IT again. Poor man. He sacrificed his dreams because of this stupid mistake.
- Lucy spiralling into her depression again. This time, it's not a phase.
- Lynn Jr. Not only had she fallen from grace but she wound up hanging with the wrong crowd and took drugs. How the Mighty Have Fallen and she fell hard.
- By 2024, Lincoln Loud became a cold case. The final blow to break their hearts.
- Pop-Pop dying. Nuff said.
- When Lori and Lisa meet Lincoln again...it is clear that Lincoln had moved on from his life. He left the Louds AND Royal Woods in the past. And he made sure that Lori understands it. No reunion, no hatred, just apathy. And poor Lori couldn't take it.
- Luna finding out as well. Lori, Luna and Lisa cry that day.
