• The ending of the Black Face story, often considered one of the darkest episodes of the series. Black Face has seemingly died and gone missing, and Chesterfield thinks he recognizes him among some Black gravediggers... but is sad to find out he is mistaken. Despite constantly clashing with Black Face throughout the story, he still felt some respect towards him for fighting for a noble cause.
• The death of Sallie is this for any animal lover. This hits particularly hard for Chesterfield (Who despite his dismissal on Loyal Animal Companion) bonded with the dog regardless.
