Tear Jerker / Kamikakushi

• Elder Akahiko's koto-furunushi. The poor thing is clearly sad, giving wistful little sighs and looking longing at Akahiko, who clearly misses being able to play as much as it misses being played.
• Tobirama's reaction to Uten revealing his marking is to point out that he's not needed with the Tree sealed. Which implies that Tobirama isn't used to be valued as a person but as an asset.
• The fact that Otsuno's promise was made worthless due to his own lord. No wonder Tobirama doesn't want to tell him.
• The mu-onna and their village. The fact that Kikuyu was surprised her son returned to her. The whole place reeks of sorrow.
• When Tobirama realizes Izuna's eldest brother - the one before Madara - is actually the ghost kid who saved him from a jerkass noble killing the shinobis he hire to not pay them.
• When Butsuma thinks Tobirama has gotten sick at the end of their trip to Yumeyo, his comment isn't an expression of concern but rather it is a good thing his business is over and he no longer needs to rely on Tobirama. The fact that Tobirama says he's not compromised rather than "I'm fine" doesn't help.
  • Tobirama's frustration that he can't tell anyone the truth because no one would believe him.
    • The fact we see incidents that indicate that Butsuma would be a good father only for him to go back to being a Clan Head First, everything else a distant second. It's all too easy to see what could have been.
• When Tobirama told his youkai friends they can't attack Butsuma, the rationale he gave wasn't that Butsuma was his father, but his clan head.
• Hashirama reminds the readers that Tobirama used to think problems could be solved by talking them out before both Itama and Kawarama were killed.
• Hashirama and Butsuma have a very poor relationship. It's implied Hashirama only makes efforts to be polite to Butsuma for Tobirama's sake.
• When Hashirama gives Tobirama a chakra-enhanced hug, he mentions he used to do so a lot and that it used to help Tobirama sleep after nightmares. And that they stopped after the River Incident. Showing how the falling out impacted their relationship.
• "I'm going to outlive you." Made worse by Hashirama assuring Tobirama he actually wants his baby brother to outlive him because Hashirama is the eldest and that's how nature should go, but he just doesn't know the context and Tobi is going to live so much longer than a common human so they won't be reunited for a long, long time.
