Music:

  • A good bunch of their ballads easily come under this trope, notable examples being "Innocent Love", "Growing Pains", "Your Love", "Because It's You", "Lie", etc.
  • The whole Rise Up mini-album, especially once you know the context behind the songs of the album (explained below).

    • The "Always You" music video. It was a lot more scarce compared to their previous tracks, a clear effect of said crisis on their budget, and just exudes a hopeless feeling throughout, reflective of what the members felt during the hiatus. The lines "You told me not to worry no matter what happens; are you still there?" hit hard when you consider how scary it was for them to lose fans due to situations that were not even under their control- they could only wonder if there would be many fans left supporting them through the hiatus. And the desperation in the lines of the pre-chorus, "Even if I fall countless times, I'll get up and go to you. Though I'm late, I came to you; in the end it's you." talking about how, at the end of he tunnel, it was the remaining fans who gave them hope during the tough times. Jinjin and Rocky's rap also counts:
I'm alright even if things are hard
(It was too much too endure alone, I need you, I'm afraid)
I'm alright even though I'm alone
(But if you disappear, I can't endure alone)

    • For that matter, "By Your Side", a pop ballad on the same album, was written by the all members, for fans that left during the hiatus, as well as the ones who stayed, assuring them that they would stay by their side no matter what happens. These lyrics, coupled with the situation at the time made the song even more tearjerking:
If I let you go, I'd be like a silent song,
Without you and me, it looks like a picture without colour
Even if time passes and you have changed, note
    I'll always be here
Even if you are shaken up by many sorrows,
I'll protect you by your side
    • Despite its upbeat and catchy melody, the lyrics of "Call Out" have the members desperately "calling out" for the remaining fans so that they could see them even for just one more time, as that's the only thing they could do in that helpless situation.
  • "Bloom" is probably one of their saddest ballads yet, especially the lyrics. While not explicitly stated, the lyrics imply the death of a lover or a romance (most likely the latter, but the interpretation still differs depending on how one might perceive it).
I was holding on to a withered rose and adoring it.
    The ending chorus:
The words I wanted to say,
The words I was going to say,
Can you look at me for one last time?
    Please come to my side
    The words "I miss you"
    The words "I love you"
Can you look at me for one last time, like you used to?
  • The lyrics for "No, I don't" are about a couple that's drifting apart, eventually ending in a break up. The protagonist clearly doesn't want to end the relationship, but does it anyway for the sake of his significant other. Throughout most of the song, the character manages to maintain the Stepford Smiler persona, but it is at the end of the bridge where he drops the facade, finally admitting his true feelings of not wanting to let go:
If you leave, if you're not by my side
I'll be honest, I don't wanna let you go

  • The beginning verse of the song "Don't Worry" will definitely strike a chord in anyone who has, or is going through a dark phase in their life, or has ever suffered from mental health issues like depression and withdrawal.
    I don't need anything else
    I don't know anymore
I hate myself, I'm sick it now
Turn back the hands of the clock
I can't see the light, to myself in the mirror
I ask, "What is it I want to do?" (Why)
Why do you just keep hiding, pretending to be fine?
Let's be real, you're honestly scared
    • And these lyrics from the bridge, also overlaps with heartwarming:
Even if you feel like you're losing yourself,
      That's you
It's okay to take a rest
I'll be there for you, remember all the love by your side

  • "CPR". The lyrics are about the desperation and heartbreak of someone who has fallen out of love, and said person's longing to feel the connection and love they once felt. Regardless of whether you relate to the lyrics or not, it will reduce you to a sobbing mess.

It won't beat baby, why am I like this
I hate myself for being like this
But when I see you I feel sorry
Oh baby, don't cry, it's hard for me right now too
So what do I do if you cry?
It feels like my heart has stopped
    Please let it beat again
Just like the first time we met, oh
