Tabletop Game / Relics: A Game of Angels

Go To

Relics: A Game of Angels is a tabletop RPG published by Tin Star Games; it was released in 2021. Players take on the roles of fallen angels, left behind on Earth after God disappeared and closed the gates of Heaven. With Her Upstairs gone, the Relics in which fallen angels sealed their powers are starting to wake up — leading to a celestial arms race between angels and demons, with the fate of the world at stake...

It is heavily inspired by the classic In Nomine.

This game provides examples of:

  • Fallen Angel: Subverted. Angels don't "fall" as a punishment — they choose to give themselves physical bodies in order to interact directly with Creation.
  • Have You Seen My God?: A central mystery of the game — God up and disappeared a couple of years ago and closed the gates of Heaven, leaving fallen angels stranded on Earth with no guidance. Nobody knows where She went or if She's coming back, but signs point to no.
  • Hell: There isn't one (though some angels are trying to make one, to imprison demons in).
  • Our Angels Are Different: They were created by God to help Her shape the universe, and are composed of four Aspects representing the Bull, the Eagle, the Human, and the Lion. In Heaven, an angel is a ball of superheated divine fire. When they come to Earth they forge crystalline Vessels for themselves, over which is projected a human disguise called a Semblance.
