Premiers Baisers (French for First Kisses) is a French series created by AB Productions that aired from 1991 to 1995 in the Club Dorothée show on the TF1 channel.

A Spin-Off of Salut les Musclés, another AB sitcom, Premiers Baisers focuses on teenage girl Justine Girard, her boyfriend Jérôme, her friends, and family. With only one season of 318 episodes and a Revolving Door Casting, it's a cross between a sitcom and Soap Opera, like most series of the AB Productions universe. It has two sequels: Les Années fac (1995-1998) that continues the story of the protagonists in college, and later Les Années bleues (1998), a not very popular Short-Runner about the characters as adults.

Justine's older sister Hélène only appears sporadically in the first 60 episodes, and then leaves the series to star in her own spin-off Hélène et les Garçons, which also has its own three sequels. The third sequel Les Mystères de l'amour (which started in 2011) features some Premiers Baisers characters coming back.

Tropes in the series:

  • Calling Parents by Their Name: Despite being close to them, Justine calls her parents by their first names Marie and Roger. Her sister Hélène doesn't, however.
  • Crossover: Occasionally with other series by AB Productions.
    • The protagonists make occasional appearances in Les Filles d'à côté.
    • In 1993, there is Famille fou rire, a Made-for-TV Movie with the main characters of this series and other AB sitcoms appearing, including Helene et les Garçons, Salut les Musclés, Le Miel et les Abeilles, as well as the hosts of Club Dorothée.
  • Cute, but Cacophonic: Annette, a sweet but clingy Bespectacled Cutie, has a squeaky and high-pitched voice that makes her even more awkward.
  • Hormone-Addled Teenager: Justine and especially her friend Annette are very boy-crazy teenagers. Even in the first five minutes of the pilot, there are two of Justine's friends making out.
  • Likes Older Men: While Annette often has crushes on many boys her age, she is also in love with Justine's father Roger. Twenty yeas later, in the spin-off Les Mystères de l'amour, Annette and Roger will get married after the disappearance of Roger's wife Marie.
  • Revolving Door Casting: The main character Justine is temporarily Put on a Bus during some periods. Also, several protagonists are introduced in later episodes, like Justine's cousin Debbie, her Australian friends Suzy and Suzon, the other cousin Virginie who shows up after Debbie's departure, and other friends and love interests.
  • Single-Minded Twins: Suzy and Suzon, two eccentric Australian twins who act like the same character.
  • Token Evil Teammate: The Alpha Bitch Isabelle is often seen with Justine's group, but she is more an antagonist than a friend, frequently trying to sabotage couples and relationships.
