Mujeres engañadas ("Cheated woman") is a Mexican telenovela produced by Emilio Larrosa that ran from 1999 to 2000.
Mujeres engañadas contains examples of:
- The Alcoholic: Florinda, to the point that she is hospitalized for it.
- Bratty Teenage Daughter: Jessica Duarte
- Broken Pedestal: Jessica used to admire her father, but discovering his infidelity made her lose respect for him to the point of rejecting him as her father.
- The Casanova: Cesar
- Chick Magnet: Cesar attracts at least four women onscreen, and is established to have dated or been the object of attraction of many more.
- Gold Digger: Ivette
- Good Stepmother: In a Gender Flipped example, Javier loves his stepdaughter very much, treating him in the same way as if she were his biological daughter. It makes her rejection of him much more painful.
- Like Mother, Like Daughter: Both Florinda and her daughter Diana cheated on their respective husbands and ended up regretting it.
- Obnoxious In-Laws: Doña Catalina is this to Yolanda, looking down on her due to her humble origins and constantly insulting and bellitling her.
- Papa Wolf: Javier would do anything to protect his children, even if it means getting his hands dirty
- Riddle for the Ages: It is never revealed who threw Pablo off the balcony, although is strongly implied that it was either Ricardo or Javier
- That One Case: Teniente Ortega is determined to solve Pablo´s murder case, sidelining more important and pressing cases.
