A human being made this note, right?

Farzi (lit. Fake) is an Indian Prime Video series created by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK (credited as "Raj & DK", the creators of The Family Man. The first season was released on February 10, 2023.

Sunny (Shahid Kapoor) is an artist and designer who, with his best friend Firoz (Bhuvan Arora) helps his idealistic grandfather Madhav (Amol Palekar) run a magazine. However, he is disillusioned with increasing income inequality and the fact that the magazine is running at a loss and on the verge of bankruptcy. In desperation to save the business and not caring about the rules of a system which wouldn't care for their lives, Sunny hits upon a plan – why not print their own 500-rupee notes? After a few failed experiments, Sunny and Firoz find that they are pretty good at literally printing money.

However, in literally printing said money, Sunny and Firoz must worry about not only the law, represented by Michael Vedanayagam (Vijay Sethupathi), a Special Task Force officer who heads the Counterfeiting and Currency Fraud Analysis & Research Team, and Reserve Bank of India officer Megha Vyas (Raashi Khanna), but also competition, represented by counterfeiting kingpin Mansoor Dalal (Kay Kay Menon).

Farzi provides examples of:

  • The Alcoholic: Michael. It's a big reason for his impending divorce, and he is having difficulties getting any custody of his son.
  • Fun with Acronyms: The Counterfeiting and Currency Fraud Analysis & Research Team, or CCFART.
  • Stealth Sequel: To The Family Man, though it is more accurate to say that they share the same universe, as revealed when Michael contacts Srikant Tiwari himself.
