Harold: Up until now, this story was almost believable!
I have been temporarily banned from the Trope Launch Pad, so I will add more examples I think of here and then add them to the draft when the ban is lifted.Harold: Up until now, this story was almost believable!
- American Ultra: starts out as a pretty mundane story about a stoner who works at a convenience store... and then he finds out he is actually a secret agent who had his memories erased. After this a number of unrealistic things happening, such as Mike and Pheobe being rendered unconscious by taser guns
- Finding Nemo: A weird unintentional example. The film is realistic until the fish somehow manage to break a fishing net by swimming down. This would not be possible in Real Life.
- Free Guy: While Free City is an unrealistic video game, the movie itself doesn't become unrealistic until one of the characters in Free City comes alive.
- The Perfect Weapon: The movie is believable until Tanaka is rendered unconscious by a taser gun. A number of unrealistic things happen after this.
- Titanic (1997): The film is pretty believable until a man falls and hits the propellor, becoming a propeller himself. After this a number of unrealistic things happen, such as the Titanic sinking vertically into the ocean, Jack's corpse sinking to the bottom of the ocean note , and
- Rise of the Planet of the Apes: The movie is believable until Rocket passes out 10 seconds after being shot with tranquilizer dart. After this a number of unrealistic things happen, such as apes gaining the ability to speak to humans, walking on their hind legs, and riding horses.
