Tropes
- Absurdly Spacious Sewer:There is a huge underground sewer underneath Fall City.
- Ascended Extra: Entei. In the main series, Entei is usually behind Suicune in importance among the legendary beasts. In Ranger, Entei is front and center as a critical part of the Big Bad's plans.
- Book Ends: A musical example in the first game — the theme for the very first capture you make is reprised as the penultimate battle theme for Raikou and Suicune, and then a Dark Reprise of the same theme is used in the very final battle during Entei's rampage.
- Dark Reprise: In the first game, the Dusk Factory uses a shady version of Fall City's music.
- Doomed New Clothes: At the start of the first game, the player is given a brand new uniform; by the end, Spencer notes how your uniform is in tatters.
- Interface Screw: Only present in the original, which is Type A: several Pokémon release oddly colored waves as their attack in the field, Zubat being one of them. Jynx's kiss will do this too.
