Balkanize Me: Due to Columbus never reaching the Caribbean and thus Spain not recieving an influx of gold from its colonies, the Spanish Golden Age not only doesn't happen, but the country breaks apart. By 2011, the area that comprises Spain in OTL is instead split between the Republic of Galicia, the Basque Republic, the Republic of Catalonia, the Grand Duchy of Valencia, and a rump Spanish Republic.
China Takes Over the World: Subverted. While China isn't the sole global superpower, it is still a major great power and the leader of its own bloc.
