• The pineapples.
• Shawn introducing himself as Shawn and then proceeding to introduce Gus with some ridiculous name for no reason at all.
  • Methuselah Honeysuckle (although that one came from Henry)
  • Lavender Gooms
  • Paddy Simcox
  • Holla Backatcha
  • The list goes on, and on, and on... To the point that Gus comments on it whenever someone actually introduces him by his real name.
• Gus screaming like a girl and/or beating a hasty retreat.
• Gus being afraid of blood and allergic to almost everything.
• Gus calling his super-powerful nose "the Supersniffer"
• Gus obsessing about his Blueberry being a company car and being super protective of it as a consequence, usually to hilarious effect.
• Shawn's phone never being on vibrate and ringing always with horribly timing.
• Shawn's hair being almost super-humanly awesome. And people appreciating each other's hair in general.
• People admiring Gus's perfect head or Shawn calling him "Magic Head".
• Gus really trying to be good with kids and ending up looking extremely creepy.
• Gus saying something dismissive and Shawn responding with, "Gus, don't be the insert obscure cultural reference."
• Gus saying a long medical or academic word and Shawn responding with, "Gus, you can't just make up words."
• Someone comparing the situation they're in to a certain movie and then pointing out who each person involved correlates to in the film. Sometimes with people arguing over which character they want or don't want to be.
• Real Life example: Three hole punch. One of the writers thought that "three hole punch" sounded funnier than "three hole puncher" somehow, to which the cast responded by breaking into highly-exaggerated mock-laughter whenever the phrase came up.
  • So THAT'S why all the zombies were laughing in "A Nightmare on State Street."
    Gus: There's nothing funny about a three hole punch!"
• The episode "Office Space" takes place largely at Gus's job as a pharmaceutical salesman, after a few seasons of not mentioning his job at all. This is lampshaded repeatedly to the point of Running Gag with various people saying they didn't think Gus still worked there.
• Shawn and Gus having guns pointed at them.
• Gus always falling in love with a murderer or someone who knows a murderer.
• In seasons 6 and 7 especially, Shawn sampling snacks and taking cool stuff from the houses or apartments of the recently murdered or from crime scenes.
• Shawn slapping Gus in the pec affectionately, which he does to annoy Gus.
• Gus using the same lame pick-up line: "You heard about Pluto? That's messed up, right?"
• Shawn and/or Gus telling someone to "suck it" in increasingly elaborate ways, to the point where they would spontaneously sing the phrase.
• Shawn saying "Act natural." Cue Shawn, Gus, and anyone who might be with them assuming awkward standing poses.
