- Stranger Things utilizes the track "Prophecies" in Season 4 during a scene where Nancy Wheeler gets a view of Vecna's past.

- The music video for Grace Jones' "Pull Up to the Bumper" uses Chroma Key to superimpose footage of Jones from A One Woman Show atop scenes from this movie.
- Madonna's video for "Ray of Light"
is a homage to this movie. The video itself, incidentally, was also homaged on an episode of Family Guy.
- The "Hello Gutter, Hello Fadder" episode of The Simpsons has a high-speed time lapse of a day in Homer's bedroom when he oversleeps. Later episodes of The Simpsons have seen more vivid references, including a full parody of Itchy and Scratchy with several images taken directly from the film.
