The one where everyone gets their revenge on the almighty Saga curse (with a homage to Avengers: Endgame to boot)...until the curse pulls a 'screw you' on everyone at the end and summons aliens.
The final episode of the three-part finale arc for Revenge, and is the last episode for that season.
Tropes:
- Alien Invasion: In The Stinger of the episode, a UFO comes out of nowhere and unleashes a laser strike on a remote part of Saga. Whether or not it's another Sagako manifestation, or a proper invasion on either Saga or the world at large remains to be seen.
- Ambiguous Situation:
- Are aliens invading Saga, or is just some form of Sagako manifestation?
- Why exactly was Kotaro coughing up blood? Is it some illness, damage from the flooding of New Jofuku Bar he endured, or something else related to Franchouchou's reanimation?
- Back for the Finale: Almost every major character introduced across both seasons comes to support what's set to be Franchouchou's biggest concert yet.
- Call-Back:
- Coughing Up Blood: Kotaro's over-the-top crying was apparently to cover up the fact that he was coughing blood for as-yet unexplained reasons.
- Extra-Long Episode: Because there was too much important content to cut, it was decided to air a much longer than average episode break free.
- Inelegant Blubbering: Kotaro is so proud of the girls that he goes into the Pose of Supplication and cries messily.
- Season Finale: The final episode of Zombie Land Saga Revenge.
- Sequel Hook: Several plot points are either introduced or still left unresolved.
- Franchouchou has yet to fully confess their zombiehood to the public. Okoba's held off on doing so for them as well.
- Their rivalry with Iron Frill is still withstanding, though it appears to be on friendlier terms this episode.
- Much of Kotaro's background and history with Sakura are still a mystery, not to mention he seems to be hiding some kind of illness.
- Tae has yet to awaken, and it's unknown when, or if, she ever will.
- And of course, Saga is attacked by aliens!
- Tears of Joy:
- Sakura weeps at the end of their encore. Several characters in the audience get quite emotional as well.
- The success of the concert causes Kotaro to burst out sobbing.
- Tempting Fate: A lampshaded, though ultimately subverted, example is Saki admitting on radio that trying to do a second EFS concert after their first one bombed - and especially after a disaster that's crippled the Saga prefecture - means that their Revenge concert may end up being even worse. Luckily, that same radio show acted as a rallying call, not just for Saga or even Japan but for the whole world (members of the US military can be seen flown in with White Ryu) and makes the entire concert not just a success, but an overwhelming triumph.
- Shout-Out: During the Saga Charity Concert, Tae and the audience start doing a back and forth song version of simon says, a hallmark of Queen's concerts where Freddy Mercury and the audience would do the same, most famously their Live Aid concert in 1985. Observe.
- Wham Shot:
- After the girls leave the break room, Kotaro tries to wipe away a spot of blood he seemingly spat up.
- Out of left-field, Saga is attacked by a UFO.
