Go To

Blood Shepherd has thoroughly studied Playmaker's deck, and Playmaker is completely helpless before his Drone deck. Having been driven into a corner, Playmaker decides to use his trump card to turn things around.

This episode contains the following tropes:

  • Dark and Troubled Past: Due to a malfunctioning AI in a self-driving taxi Kengo and his mother rode on which led the two to get into an accident, Kengo grew to become greatly resentful of AIs, and adopts the mindset that they should be fully human controlled.
  • Deliberate Injury Gambit: Defied by Blood Shepherd. He uses Medicdrone Dock's Effect to restore Playmaker's LP by 1000 and thus prevent him from meeting the prerequisite for activating Storm Access. Playmaker, however, quickly gets around this by halving his LP via Dimension Link.
  • Evolving Credits:
    • OP2 updated Aoi to her Blue Girl avatar.
    • ED3 is updated to include Cyberse Clock Dragon alongside Playmaker, Soulburner, and their Monsters.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: Lampshaded by Blood Shepherd, who activated Demolition Drone to not only Tribute Battledrone General and prevent himself from taking significant damage in the battle between itself and Cyberse Magician, but also halve damage from Cyberse Magician's direct attack.
An excellent superior officer is willing to retreat courageously.
  • Pun: After Blood Shepherd is surprised at the sight of a card that involves Fusion Summoning, Ai follows up by exclaiming "You! Go!", which is similar to the Japanese pronunciation of Fusion (Yūgō).
  • Taking You with Me: Invoked by Playmaker, who uses Excess Lesser Linker to make his Cyberse Witch's ATK the same as that of Blood Shepherd's Medicdrone Dock, thus taking each other out in battle and preventing Playmaker from losing.
  • Villain Respect: Blood Shepherd commends Playmaker when he gets past his two turn count.
  • Wham Shot: Playmaker Fusion Summoning Cyberse Clock Dragon.
