• Bittersweet Ending: Jaden and nearly the rest of Duel Academy are on their way back home to Academy Island, but Jesse stays behind to battle Yubel to make sure everyone gets home safe, while he and Yubel presumably disappear in the process.
• Cliffhanger: The episode ends with the portal opening for Jaden and the rest of Duel Academy to return home, but we aren’t seen what happens from the portal starting to open until next episode.
• Heroic Sacrifice: Jesse stays behind on the Duelling ground to battle Yubel to open the portal to rescue Duel Academy, knowing he might not make it back. Bonus points for him redirecting Yubel’s attack meant for Jaden.
• Wham Episode: The spirit controlling Marcel is finally revealed as Yubel, a Duel Monster who had a close connection with Jaden, but was sent away when Yubel started hurting people.
