The fifth Shadow Rider appears and he's never lost a duel.
- Dumbass Has a Point: It's Jaden who points out that for a pharaoh who supposedly had an undefeated winning streak, his cards don't live up to the legend.
- Foreshadowing: At the end of the episode, Jaden calls himself "Legend Slayer". Banner who is watching him and the others from afar comments Jaden will get the chance to truly earn that nickname and face his true test soon.
- Guilt by Association Gag: Banner gives Jaden, Chazz, and Syrus detention. While Jaden and Chazz are understandable due to them causing a disruption in class and getting physical with each other, Syrus didn't do anything disruptive himself and just told the two to stop, making it seem more like he was just punished for being Jaden's best friend.
- Invincible Incompetent: Abdidos' undefeated record was the result of his opponents always letting him win, because he's the pharaoh and were afraid of incurring his wrath should they defeat him.
- Literal-Minded: Either this or Jaden just being a troll to Chazz. During class when Jaden boasts he could defeat Abdidos' undefeated record, Chazz sarcastically says that then Jaden will beat Yugi and Kaiba too, with Jaden thanking him for believing in him. When Chazz angrily says "it's sarcasm, got that" Jaden says if Chazz wants to change his name he can do a lot better than "Sarcasm".
- Manchild: Abdidos acts like one during his duel with Jaden, complaining whenever Jaden destroys his monsters and deals him damage, stating he cannot attack him. Jaden explains in legitimate confusion that he can because it is in the rules. This eventually leads to Abdidos realizing that he was only undefeated because his opponents always just let him win.
- Sympathy for the Devil: Once it is revealed that Abdidos was undefeated because his opponents always let him win, Jaden and his friends are all just as sad about this as he is, since they sympathize with him over living a lie.
