Tropes

  • Artistic License – History: This episode takes place in 1989. Connie goes to Louisiana to gamble in what looks like a legally allowed casino (as opposed to the illicit casinos where Connie also gambles). Trouble is, casino gambling wasn't legal in Louisiana until 1991.
  • The B Grade: Sheldon gets a B+ on his math test because he forgot to show his work. He blames it on attending a party the previous night, even though he didn’t stay long and didn’t want to go anyway.
  • Description Cut: While the party is happening, Mary tells George "I wouldn't worry about [Missy]. She's an angel." Cut to Missy dancing at the party.
  • Marshmallow Hell: When Sheldon helps the school win a game, he gets congratulated by the students, including being hugged by a cheerleader (as indicated in the title). It was mortifying for him.
  • Shout-Out to Tony Orlando: Connie gets to see him in Louisiana.
