Following the previous episode, the Xavier Mansion is being rebuilt by Warren Worthington III, whose father funds the anti-mutant Mutant Response Division (MRD). Emma Frost appears, wanting to join the X-Men, and offers to operate Cerebro.
Using Cerebro, Emma locates Professor X on the island of Genosha, where he is being cared for by Magneto. The X-Men, including a reluctant Cyclops, travel to Genosha to retrieve Xavier. They battle Magneto, but he allows them to take Xavier back to the mansion.
In the present, Xavier projects a vision of a bleak future where the X-Men are scattered and cities are destroyed by giant robots. He charges Wolverine with reuniting the team, but Cyclops is resistant. As the X-Men watch over the comatose Xavier, Wolverine emphasizes the need for them to overcome their differences to save the world.
